For history class at this point you should
1. Watched the videos on most of the presidents in your assigned time period and taken 1-3 notes from each video.
2. Created with your group a brainstorm of events that happened during your time period and submitted through Schoology.
3. Been assigned a president from you time frame to study in more depth
4. Started your research on: How did the president use the power of the executive office to influence America? How did he use his power as president to make change (positive or negative) in America?

Tuesday

Today students will work with their assigned time period group.  1 group member from each group should open the "Presidential Time Period Brainstorm" Doc in www.schoology.com. Next students should use the textbooks (American Nation under the bookshelf) and the helpful links below to create a list, web, or other brainstorm of the important events and ideas from the time period they are assigned.  Before the end of class this should be submitted through Schoology.

Next students will assign each person within the group a different president to study from that time period.  This information should be recorded on the "President Research List" Assignment in Schoology before the end of class.

If there is time students can begin researching their president.

Homework due Tuesday: A Very Big Branch HW

• What precedents did George Washington set?
• Enrichment: The Virtue of Washington Reading or Slavery at Ms. Vernon WebQuest
• Do Now: Nearpod collaborate: Write a fact about George Washington
• Listen to “One Last Time” One Last Time from Hamilton and introduce Washington’s decision to only serve 2 terms 
• Each partnership should match the quote from Washington’s Farewell Address with its meaning. 
• With a partner organize the examples under the correct pillar Pillars of a Strong Nation
• If there is extra time or for enrichment students should illustrate a pillar or a quote from GW to post on a bulletin board
