Yesterday students learned about John Locke and imagined what life would be like in a state of nature. Locke & Natural Rights Google Slides  Today students brainstormed what rights all people should have and then categorized these rights into life, liberty, or property.

  • Read together as a class "How did people in the colonies earn a living?" WTP page 6. In small groups students will brainstorm different jobs people might have if they lived in the city.
Read the story Ox Cart Man and discuss how it connects with the idea of self-sufficient farming in New England.
