  2. Open your Executive Branch Research Doc from yesterday and continue your research. If you were not here yesterday please make your own copy of: Executive Branch Research

Things to remember:

1. You can only use the Library Databases. US History in Context is the best!
2. By the end of class today you should have 10-15 facts from 2-3 resources


PARENTS: students are coming home today with updated grade reports.  If they have missing work I have highlighted it on the list and stapled a new copy to the grade report.

Today is a catch-up day from me being out sick for 2 days!
-Students will get updated grade reports today with their current averages.  Any work they want included before progress reports go home is due Monday!
-Binder organization of history section
-Review the rubric feedback in schoology for the Boston Massacre Outline
-Review the NJ & VA Plans & hand in work from yesterday
-Students will work in groups to complete How did the Great Compromise solve the problem of representation?
-Students can use class time to continue working on their Founder Social Media Page which is due tomorrow or start tonight's homework: WTP: Lesson 14: Conflict between the Northern and Southern states

    1. Copy definitions on to the WTP Lesson 13: Representation in Congress conflicts handout (see Google Slides: Conflict over Representation in Congress Lessons)
  2. With a partner students should work together to complete the Solve the Problem page 115
  3. In small groups or individually students work to complete the Comparing the Va and NJ plans chart Comparing Virginia & New Jersey Plan Chart using pages 116 & 117.  If they finish they should turn it into the period folder or if they complete it digitally through Schoology. If they don’t finish it is homework due tomorrow

Today in class we learned about Shays Rebellion from a student enrichment group presentation. Next we played a Kahoot that reviewed the American Revolution, Articles of Confederation, and State Constitutions.

Today in class students will visit the book fair (which is also open tonight in conjunction with the JFK Mall craft fair from 6-8)

We will also brainstorm solutions to the problems with the Articles of Confederation (see yesterdays slides)

Students now have a copy of the HW due Monday (instead of Friday) WTP Lesson 12: The Philadelphia Convention HW

1. What are the Articles of Confederation?
2. What problems did the Founders face in writing the Articles of Confederation?
3. How did the Articles of Confederation organize the national government?
