What is History?
To start the year we look at history through a variety of lenses to build a greater appreciation for the possibilities history can include. The first component of the unit is developing a personal context for history and building community.
Objectives:
- Become motivated to learn more about American history
- Understand that history is personal; it is a story told in many different voices.
- Identify personal connection to historical material
- Be exposed to a wide variety of sources that can be used for historical investigation.
- Build a community of learners through sharing and connection strengthening
