Abolitionist Research

Directions:
  1.  Complete the Abolitionist Background Information Chart and have Ms. Bisbee check it
  2.  Pick an abolitionist you are interested in learning more about.  I have provided resources on Frederick Douglass, Harriet Beecher Stowe, William Lloyd Garrison, Harriet Tubman, Sojourner Truth, and John Brown.  You also can pick someone beyond this list.
  3. Make your own copy of: Research Doc or use the printed version in class. Print resources are available at your table. Digital resources can be found on my Symbaloo page: https://www.symbaloo.com/mix/abolitionistresearch
  4. Complete your research by the end of class Monday. Class Friday and Monday will be entirely devoted to your research.
  5.  Wednesday and Thursday will be days to create and write.  

Complete Final Project including notes, bibliography, written option, and creative option and any enrichment due Friday, March 16th

The Underground Railroad

Students will review the Underground Railroad, watch from 32:00-45:00 of Many Rivers to Cross Episode 2: Age of Slavery (see below), and examine the primary source advertisements for runaway slaves in the Slavery Primary Source Packet.
For homework tonight students will complete the Underground Railroad Map and Reading Questions
