Slavery in Antebellum America

Today we started using primary and secondary source documents to learn about the system of slavery, the daily life of slaves, and the slave trade. We will be using the information we gather from the documents to expand our understanding of life in Antebellum America.

Today we explored the growing differences between the North and South using images and edited/revised 2nd drafts of the Hamilton/Jefferson Essay.  Final COPY is due April 25 stapled with 2nd and first draft and Hamilton/Jefferson bubble notes

Updated Grade Reports went home today with all history students that were not testing today.  If a student owed multiple assignments I've stapled copies of the assignments to the grade report. Grades close April 11th so any work must be turned in before then!

Yesterday in class we watched "Hidden America: Children of the Plains" (See yesterday's blog post!) which highlighted the problems on reservations.  Today we continued the discussion and watched the video below about current Native American youth activism and what can be done to help.
